Seroprevailence of Antibody Titers Against Hepatitis B in Children Aged from 1 to 5 years old. Matanzas Province,1999.

In 1992 the vaccine against the Hepatitis B disease was first used in Cuba, in newborn chidren,following,all the necessary tests for its approval.The logical evolution of the same induces us to find ourselves in the phase or post marketing based on the maintenance evaluation og its protecting capacity.In order to evaluate the permanency of antibidy titers against the Hepatitis B virus in children from one to five years old,previously vaccinated,a simple study of transversal cut has been carried out, belonging to the IV phase of the HB Herberbiovac,which implies the evaluation of and intervention in open populations.
One hundred eight three children werw studied within the health areas in East Colon and Perico Municipalities,171 of these children had titers above 10 VI per liter, ascending to a 93,4 % provincial efficacy. A 100% efficienciency resulted in children from one to three years old. A reinforcement dose was given to the twelve hyporesponders 9.8% were hyperresponders.
