Abstract

Introduction: Information technologies have burst into education and have generated substantial changes. One of them is the management of training processes online in the form of virtual courses that have set standards in educational offerings. However, they are conceived for a modular structure that does not favor interdisciplinarity.

Objective: To draw up a proposal for virtual courses that will allow establishing interdisciplinary relationships in virtual teaching and learning spaces for health training.

Methods: The research method used is documentary analysis based on the search for articles published in the databases Google Scholar, SciELO and Scopus. These three databases are included to cover as many articles as possible.

Results: No scientific documents are detected that reveal structural modifications in virtual courses that support interdisciplinarity. A structure of virtual courses is proposed in the form of a system, using concept maps where each node has the contents, digital teaching resources, and metrics to evaluate learning. In the same way, it is proposed to structure the degree courses in the form of conceptual course systems establishing interdisciplinary links.

Conclusions: The conceptual structure of virtual courses and degree courses enhances interdisciplinarity from the access to concepts and evaluations obtained by students in them. The reticular structure of the concept maps allows access to the nodes and the students' difficulties from another subject, course or node of the map.
