Abstract

The Medical Ethics Commissions affront a double challenge; from one hand they have been inserted in the health system reorganization processes, and from the other hand they have faced the challenge of their proper reorganization process, receiving, in many cases, menaces with limited opportunity vision. The Ministerial Resolution Nr 138, issued by the Ministry of Public Health in 2009, empowered the commissions with a juridical tool facilitating their functions. As an answer to questions related with the functioning and pertinence of the Medical Ethics Commissions, asked to their presidents and other members, we decided to redact this article. The document pretends to be the beginning of a series going deeper in the sense, functioning and importance of these groups of consultants who unselfishly work for increasing medical care quality.
