In vitro fecundation and embryo transplantation are effective medical techniques to solve infertility troubles affecting a rising quantity of men and women. These techniques have had great advances, but, as it is normal when the man is able to modify nature, ethical and moral troubles have appeared. These techniques not only benefit the couple allowing them to have descendant, but the society in general, because it gives the family, primary social nucleus, validity and sense. They also offer the possibility of avoiding genetic disorders and intensifying basic investigations on human reproduction and contraception. The use of extra-conjugal gametes has been criticized because it attempts against the marriage unity; many persons consider assisted reproduction is an infidelity, but they have to think that it preserves the mutual sexual exclusivity. Sometimes marriage legality is an impediment for the realization of these techniques and we have to analyze that marriage legality is not a pledge of warranty securing marriage stability.
