Background: Violence against women includes any violent act on the basis of gender, which causes or may cause physical, sexual, psychological or some kind of suffering through threats, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of their liberty. Objective: to determine the factors that affected the crimes of female injuries as a way of manifesting domestic violence in the province of Pinar del Río. Methods: An observational, descriptive and longitudinal investigation was carried out of 236 injured who were interviewed in the Provincial Department of Legal Medicine for a complaint of crime of injury within the framework of the family during the period 2017 - 2018. The information was obtained through the application of a victim survey and the review of the existing statistical database in the expert activity control book of the provincial department of Legal Medicine of Pinar del Río. Results: most of the victims were at ages 16 to 35, from the white race and from the municipality of Pinar del Rio. The relationship with the victim was that of a sexual partner, the punch being the modus operandi of the victim and violent behavior the most frequent risk factor, highlighting the jealousy as motive of the fact. Predominating night hours and non-serious injuries without medical treatment. Conclusions: Domestic violence continues to be a health and social problem in our province, so social, health and authorities must work together for prevention and reduction.
