We reviewed the updated information on procedures used in postcoital contraception, using either hormonal (contraceptive tablets) or non-hormonal (intrauterine devices) methods. Our objective was that deaf, fertile, feminine population could know and be able of using these methods, to reduce unwanted pregnancy leading to an interruption, with its unpredictable complications. The hormonal procedure could be made with the contraceptive preparations available in the country; it is efficacious and has scarce complications, while the non hormonal method (intrauterine device), although it has more specific indications, has also a high effectiveness.Downloads
