Functional disorders of endometrium (I Part).
Keywords:
ENDOMETRIO, FEMENINO, ADULTO, HUMANOAbstract
Over 20% of women in their reproductive years seek for medical attention complaining of infertility or abnormal vaginal bleeding. Most of the causes of these disturbances are of dysfunctional character, however, frequently both clinicians and pathologists feel uncomfortable approaching these disorders since an understanding of the normal histology and physiology of the endometrium is needed to diagnose and treat them. In this article a point of view of how to face this common problem as well as definitions, a classification and clinical and pathological features of these entities are given.
It is also stressed the idea of a close relationship between the clinician and the pathologist as the key for a good diagnosis.
