Abstract

Dental implantology plays an important role in the current times, and also the usage of bone grafts to improve the bones quantity and quality in patients suffering a great atrophy and resorption of the residual alveolar ridges. We carried out a bibliographic review aimed to emphasize the effects of tooth lack (desdentamiento), both partial and total, and the importance of a fast and qualitative rehabilitation. We described the implanting rehabilitation through dental implants, as a great option inside the current stomatologic prostheses and the importance of bone grafts in their usage, the kinds of bone grafts, and also the materials currently used to make these grafts. We list the intra buccal zones that are used the most for obtaining bone grafts, and also the main mechanisms allowing the success of this technique. It was evidenced the importance of the technique in oral rehabilitation as a part of the modern stomatology development.
