Abstract

With the goal to know the behavior of all injuried children due to accidents,an observant and descriptive study was perfomed within the health area at Matanzas Municipality. The study area comprised since January 1998 to January 2000.From a sample of 2256 injured children the behavior was as follows: male sex was the most affected one(61%),with the 5to 9 year old group as the grestest case number and falls was the most common observed modality,specifically on wek-ends and from 12 moon to 6:00pm. Home was the place with greatest occurrence.
