Total cost for the AIPD during this period was $ 76 841,44 representing 6,29% of the institution budget for other expenses. Investigation cost was $ 912,16 in the surgical unit and laparoscopy $ 13 293,20 and drugs $ 19 071. The most frequently used antibiotic was the crystalline penicillin with best results because of its cost-benefit. Taking into account the AIPD cost and morbidity we recommend to work continously in all preventive aspect of the disease.
