Keywords:

Mucinosis is a rare skin disease described more than 30 years ago by Steigleder, and affecting mainly women in advanced ages. Clinically it presents areas with persistent hematoma and papules that can crowd forming plaques with scales. Their etiology is not still clear, but several factors like ultraviolet light, immunological disturbances, viral infections have been linked or associated with their induction. It is presented a case report of a male patient, aged 20 years, with antecedents of having had a condylomata acuminata. He also presented other skin lesions characterized by 10 alopecic plaques, with a slight infiltration, in the scalp, and 2 infiltrated lesions in plaques of 3-5 cm of diameter, with precise edges, in the central inferior third of the back. A skin biopsy was performed corroborating the diagnosis of mucinosis. After that the patient was admitted in the Service of Nephrology in the hospital of Cardenas with a diagnosis of chronic renal insufficiency.
