Acute pancreatitis

A review of an entity classified by Moyniham as “the most terrible of all intraabdominal calamities”, the pancreatitis, is done. It persits as an entity of high morbility and mortalily at this moment, in spite of the great advances that in the handling of the critic patient we are having in the last years. We are still lacking of an specific effective treatment. In this work we emphasise the importance of the definite concepts at the last meeting in Atlanta and we fall into the importance of the convenient diagnosis of the infection,taking into consideration the mens we have. A particular meaning is given to the therapy,distinguishing the new drugs and the use of the antibiotictherapy,as well as the surgical treatment.Downloads
