Mental Health Services Evaluation at Matanzas municipaly between 1995 and 1999

A descriptive and retrospective work is performed with quantitative and quantitative investigation techniques in order to evaluate the Mental Health Services that are offered at Matanzas Municipality during the last five years.The processes and structure of the services offered in the Provincial Psychiatric Hospital ,Day Hospital Services, Mental Health dispensary and five health areas attended by Communitarian Policlinics and cared by family physicians and nurses are described.
Result indicators are used as total number from Psychiatric Hospital stays and from heath areas,case number seen at the Emergency Ward,partied hospitalization and out patient indicators,Mental health indicators behaviours are evaluated and are connected to programs such as suicide attempt,consumed suicide,casualness, vagrancy,omicides and alcoholism. Ratec and porcentages have been uded for quantitative data analysis.Ruslitative data obtained througt intence in terviews to specific informer and facil groupes aimed at patients,family physicians and nurces and Phychiatrist Criteria from different groups are united using the following terms: unanimity,mayority or minority.These techniques allow to explore result aspects and satisfaction with the received Mental Health Services.For its best understanding, results are shown in tables.
