The anomalies of the vascular tree are very common. The hypoplasia of the abdominal aorta has been described by many authors since the discovery of John Baptista Morgagni in an autopsy in 1733. A case of a patient of 27 years old with arterial hypertension antecedents and with a physical exam presenting a great delay in arms-legs of arterial presion is presented. Renogram, ultrasound and arteriography were indicated with the purpose to exclude a coarctation of the aorta thoracic, demonstrating: agenesis of the abdominal aorta in the infrarenal region, the formation of an anomalous vessel that irrigate the arterial circulation to the inferior limb by means of the superior rectal arterial, which had its origin in this same vessel, the mesenteric inferior arterial was absent. The results of the ultrasound corroborate the absent of bloodstream in the abdominal aorta, just below the superior mesenteric. In our case the arteriography and ultrasound A-mode discoveries, suggest a fault in the embryology development of the aorta dorsal, coinciding with an imperfect connection of the umbilical artery and distal region of both vitellin arteries in the fourth week of the intrauterine life. According to our knowledge, this is the first case reported of infrarenal aplasia of the abdominal aorta, combined with the absent of the mesenteric inferior arterial.Downloads
