Abstract

We present a case diagnosed as a juxtacortical or periostic chondroma on the right maxillomalar region. The male, white, 70-years-old patient attended the external doctor's office of the General Teaching Hospital “Julio M. Aristegui Villamil” of Cardenas . He referred a volume increase of a year evolution, asymptomatic in the first 8-9 months, but after that pain was a constant symptom. We proceeded to a presurgery study and a surgical treatment. The exeresis was done through a Ferguson 's incision without transsurgery complications. A periostic chondroma was the result of the histopathologic diagnosis. The postsurgery evolution was satisfactory. Facial periostic chondromas are very rare tumors and its therapeutics a whole challenge by its relapsing and deforming sequels described in literature. For that reason we decided to publish it.
