Abstract

The bucal cancer is one of the ten first locations of cancer incidence in our organism and it is a destructive disease of the head and neck region, able to infiltrate and invade tissues at distance.
We performed a five-years retrospective, descriptive study in patients with the histopathologic diagnosis of bucal cancer attended at the General teaching Hospital “Julio M. Aristegui Villamil”, in the period January 1999- December 2003. The most affected age group were the 71 and more years-old patients (38,3 %(, the white race (91,7 %), the male sex (75 %( and the most frequent localization were the lips (65 %). The obtained results were compared with those exposed in the most recent literature and were data of great utility in the best planning of our human and material results.
