Abstract

The present work is a prospective, longitudinal and descriptive study which includes the cases of 170 patients who came to the Orthopedist appointment in Dr. Mario Dihigo Provincial Clinic of Natural and Traditional Medicine in Matanzas .
The sample was taken through the simple aleatory method; for which two groups were formed; 1- Group A (Study Group). It was composed by the non numbers and 2- Group B (Control Group) composed by the even numbers. The first group received acupuncture and moxibustion treatments respectively; and the control group received a treatment with analgesic, anti inflammatory and myorelaxant medicines.
Bi Syndrome diagnosis was developed in both groups. It is defined as the obstruction of energy (Qi) and blood (Xue) in the channels and collaterals caused by the invasion of the external pathogenic agents –wind, cold, dampness- when the defensive energies of the organism are deficient. The results were good in both cases in 122 patients.
