We made a review of the updated concepts and knowledge on the antimicrobial resistance, its mechanisms and predisposal factors, because this is an alarming phenomenon, obsessing the scientific community. We studied sepsis behaviour at the orthopaedic service of the Military Hospital of Matanzas, during the period from January 2003 to January 2005, taking into account the most frequent germs, sensibility and resistance to the available antimicrobials.Downloads
