Abstract

We made an analysis of the traumatic hip luxation cases treated in our service from 1974 to May 2006. To make this work, we reviewed the records of the patients attending our service with this kind of lesions, and studied the bibliography on the theme. Our general objective was analyzing the presentation frequency of this traumatic entity in our environment. We discuss different parameters that should be taken into account in cases of traumatic coccyofemoral dislocation in children, such as, characteristics and causes of the trauma, the most frequent kinds according to the classification, the importance of an adequate treatment, frequency, associated lesions, complications, sequels, evolution, and other.
After evaluating our patients and actualizing concepts on the basis of the reviewed literature, we arrived to some conclusions on the theme, due to the aspects developed during our work.
