We make a review of the theme, because of the risk of occupational transmission the health care workers are at, by exposition to infected patients' blood and other body fluids. We have found many cases of infection with hepatitis B and C virus. There are groups of “high risks” among these workers, such as: surgeons, dentists, nurses, laboratory workers, blood banks workers and service workers. The risk of acquiring the disease through the occupational exposition depends on: the prevalence of the human immunodeficiency virus in the population and the existence of mucocutaneous lesions. Our objective was alerting the health care workers, because of the disease increasing progression, knowing that the best prophylaxis is prevention, and fulfillment of guarantying protection measures.
