Abstract

Cardiopathy and Pregnancy constitutes a clinical association of ectraordinary importance in medical practice.A descriptive investigation took place in Matanzas Gyneco-Obstetric Hospital Julio Alfonso Medina,during the period between 1995-2000,with the purpose of identifying the behavior of pregnany women with this condition.To this effect,a register book was organized,which gathered the percentages,the media and X2 a total of 19987 deliveries during this period,53 patients were reported as cardiopaths,representing a 0,2 %,predominating the congenital cardipathies in a 5,3 % in relation to the rheumatic ones.the majority of pregnant women had-their pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium in functional Class. Iss weight,prematury and asphyxia indicators are elevated in the studied group.
