Abstract

Surgical wound sepsis is an entily that persists at the present time in spite of medical science advances.A revision on the theme current concepts was carried out,making emphasis in the etiology and pre,trans and post –surgical factors that predispose the surgically treated patient to a a sepsis.If the erythrosedimentation rate maintains itself at 40 mm or more follwing three months of the operation,although the patient is free of samptons and there are no radiologic signs of infection,she or he is having a late surgical wound spsis and this is why of the importance to bring to an extreme level the hospital measures in order to reduce this clinical ertily incidence.
