Optimization of protocols for composite resin restorations in short appointments

Abstract

Caries treatment is essential for protecting teeth and maintaining long-term oral health. Modern dentistry focuses on minimally invasive, precise, and effective interventions to control the progression of caries. The objective of this article is to propose an optimized protocol for restoration processes using composite resin, aimed at faster interventions without compromising clinical quality and efficacy. For this, a preliminary review of the literature published in the last five years was conducted, followed by an analysis of reported protocols in order to develop an updated approach to the use of composite resin in short dental procedures. It was found that the evolution of adhesive systems and biomaterials has improved the efficacy and reliability of restoration treatments, promoting a more conservative, functional, and aesthetic dentistry. In addition, it was observed that the durability of restorations can be significantly increased if adhesion principles are rigorously followed, and proper resin layering technique is ensured. In conclusion, technological advances allow optimizing resin application protocols, significantly reducing clinical time without affecting treatment quality or patient satisfaction.
