Abstract

A screening has been carried out in two working places having as a common base that its workers are exposed to noise aggression. Sixty men comprised the working universe, half of them were not. They were randomly selected and complete physical examinations plus auditory test were carried out and interest data had also been gathered that could have altered the result. In those exposed to sonorous trauma it could be demonstrated that there is 23,49% worked with acoustic trauma, increasing with age and exposure time, being favored by the equipment technical condition and the lack of protection means use due to the absence of knowledge on one side and the little or no demand from the competent authorities. It is recommended to combine the educational actions with the regulatory ones and that systematic pre employment examinations be performed
