Klippel Trenaunay syndrome with gastrointestinal involvement: a case report

Abstract

Klippel Trenaunay syndrome is a rare, congenital disorder, characterized by venous and capillary malformations, as well as limb hypertrophy. Its complexity can lead to a late diagnosis, with complications, even fatal, such as gastrointestinal complications. These may benefit from certain measures such as anticoagulants, sigmoidectomy or antiangiogenics, although more studies of the proposed treatments are needed. The authors present a case of a male adolescent with extensive intestinal vascular malformation as a complication of Klippel Trenaunay syndrome.
