Keywords:

The current opinion article attempts to elucidate the possible relationship between pornography and male sexual health. When analyzing the scientific literature, it is observed that pornography consumption is becoming easier and more common every day; therefore, discussing the possible negative and positive effects that may be associated with the consumption of pornography is important. Frequent exposure to pornography may generate unrealistic expectations about the body, sexual performance, and couple dynamics, which in many cases would diminish sexual satisfaction during actual couple interactions. However, moderate consumption of pornography could have therapeutic applications, facilitating sexual communication and solving specific disorders. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out more research is to evaluate this interaction, but with multidisciplinary approaches, to understand the impact and promote comprehensive sexual education based on scientific evidence.
