Karate, considered both a combat sport and a martial art, is a discipline that combines techniques oriented to body control with high-intensity speed movements. Given its methodological nature, it is essential to know and develop preventive strategies. This article aims to discuss the need to implement comprehensive preventive processes that integrate evidence-based technical and biomechanical aspects, which can be structurally incorporated into both training and competition. Injuries such as contusions and lacerations of the head and neck—the most frequent—, along with those of the knee are analyzed, evidencing a lack of strategic planning aimed at safer practices of this sport, both in female and male population. This situation underscores the urgency of improving the approach to this problem. In conclusion, the analysis highlights the importance of having trained personnel in the field of health, capable of prioritizing the prevention and well-being of the athlete in the integral management of this phenomenon.
