Abstract

A clinical evolution is carried out in 50 patients diagnosed with Idiopathic Macular Perforation in one on both eyes. Patients had been selected from the Retina Consultation Office at the” Faustino Pérez” University Hospital and who had been seen in other hospitals with Ophthalmology Services Matanzas Province.
Selection criteria were applied with the purpose of excluding those who had macular perforation due to well-defined causes. In general, a total of five years was the evaluation time for the group(1996-2000).The work goal was to note the studied lesion natural evolution in relation to the variable behavior: sex, age, vision, bilateralness, risk factors and visible vitreous alteration.
