Abstract

José Joaquín Navarro Villar was a Cuban homeopathic physician and patriot of the XIX century. His life was related with the struggles for Cuban independency, and he also made an important contribution to the Homeopathic Materia Medica when he introduced two new medicines, Comocladia dentata y la Tarentula cubensis. In the current communication we make reference to some of the main aspects of his life, including his connections with the independent struggles and his contributions to Homeopathy.
