Acceptance of databases

The Electronic Medical Journal promotes the openness of research data; therefore, authors are invited to publicly place and reference the data used in their research, so that they can be shared and reused, which enhances the transparency and credibility of science. In addition, each research article and brief communication may be accompanied by the analyzed dataset, which can be uploaded as supplementary material in editable format for Excel (.xlsx or .xls) or SPSS (.sav), at the request of the RME Scientific Editor.
Data may have been previously deposited in SciELO Data, an open data repository that, in specific cases (such as patented or sensitive data), allows restricting access to selected files. By doing so, the file cannot be accessed or downloaded, but the metadata of the dataset will be visible.
For information on how to prepare data for deposit, consult the SciELO Data Research Data Preparation Guide (https://wp.scielo.org/wp-content/uploads/Guia_preparacao_es.pdf).
Research data sharing is still infrequent and directly related to research area practices. There is more than one reference repository for data deposit; you may consult the repositories accepted by the journal in the Research Data Repositories List (https://wp.scielo.org/wp-content/uploads/Lista-de-Repositorios-Recomendados_pt.pdf).
Access to research data will be reflected when completing the WAME Manuscript Checklist, which must be filled out and uploaded as a supplementary file.
