Charaterization of focal cerebral dysfunctions in its medical unit

In order to establish the demographic characteristics, risk factors, clinical aspects mortality and intra-hospital letality in patients with cerebrovacular disease, we have reviewed the data gathered through a prospective regis try of the cerebral vascular pathology in the Intensive Care units at Matanzas Military and Provincial Hospitals.A total of 1025 cases consecutively hospitalized between january 1997 and may 2000 were studied using the model of protocol recommended by the study group on vascular diseases of the Spanish Society of Neurology; the ischemia vacular diseases resulted in 67,2% of the cases and the hemorrhagic ones in 32,8% the average age was 67% years old,40% were women and 60% were men,arterial hypertension was verified in 36,3%,noting a conscience decrease in 34,.4% of the cases ,lethality rate was 22,9% for every 100 deaths.Downloads
