Male Breast Cancer. Presentation of cases and Literatura Revision.

The male breast cancer has been considered during a long time as a medical curiosity, this has taken place in 19% incidents of all male breast cancer in Cuba, its cause has not been clear , the clinic presentation , the pathology and the natural history are the same to the female ones, but not in the prognosis. This study made an análisis of clinic-pathological behavier in 8 men diagnosed with breast cancer in the University Hospital “Dr Mario Muñoz Monroy” in Colon, during the periodo f 23 years between January/1980-December/2002, this is an observational, descriptive and retrospective study, also a review of the literatura was performed.Among the most important results we have is that the male breast cancer had an incident of 1.6%, the rate age of diagnosis was 69 years , the subareolar location and more frequency, in 6 patients were made the histological confirmation of infiltrant ductal carcinoma, one case had the diagnosis of escirrocarcinoma and the other one a papillary carcinoma. The 50% was in stage 2 a, the Radical Mastectomy has been changed by Modified Radical Mastectomy in the surgical treatment of inicial stages.The results are the same as the reported on literatura, all agree that the worse prognosis of male breast cancer is early linfatic invasión and early distant metastasis.Downloads
