Abstract

In this article we briefly expose the history of the public health in Cuba, going back to the times when the first inhabitants of the island lived here. The research was divided into five periods of the Cuban history: the pre-Columbus one, the colonial one, the period of the American intervention, the republican period and the revolutionary period. The work allowed us to present the most significant aspects characterizing public health in Cuba from the discovery to the revolutionary triumph.
