Abstract

The diabetic fort is one of the most expensive and disabling chroncic events presented in Diabetic patients, motivated by high amputation rates that accompany it and in spite of this, very litlle documented evindence has always existed regarding amputation rates in diabetic patients. It is for this reason that a retrospective study is presented in which global, mayor and minor rates for diabetes foot are determined, noting that the mean amputation rate was 62% in these patients.According to its neuroinfectious and ischemic variables the figures were 62% and 66.3% and the behavior of these has shown a tendency to decrease depending to the chronologic series but during the last two years a worrisome increment exists.
