Vascular structures are damaged in 20 % while airway-digestive structures are injured in 10 %. The zone I lesions are difficult to handle because of several anatomic reasons and the organs they include. The cases of two patients with vascular lesions in the neck zone I are presented. A review of the treatment of neck trauma lesions was carried out, making special emphasis on the ones in zone I. Several current tendencies in these patients handling are dealt with.
