Abstract

In a study conducted at José Ramos López Tabrane Hospital in Matanzas between january 2004 and january 2005 on health workers exposed to a high professional risk, a sample of 118 patients from the departments of surgery, imaging, clinical laboratory, microbiology, intensive care unit, oncology and anatomical pathology were selected. These had to fill inquiries with their knowledge of biosecurity. Hematologic and blood serum studies done later were then added to each inquiry after which a descriptive observation study was made by gathering determined variables. The results obtained were both interesting and unexpected. After an analysis the related conclusion were reached and showed recommendations especially to possible variables in a later study.
