Abstract

The esophagus congenital stenosis is a very rare disease. This condition has frequently and historically been confused with esophageal stenosis, secondary to a gastroesphageal reflux. This extity has been repoerted with an incidence of one case in every 25 000 to one for in every 50 000 newborn infants and until 1995 and 500 cases had bein reported in worlwide literature.Disease symptoms are generally seen in infants about 6 months old, and when they eat solid and semi-solid food they begin to have progressive dysphagia and vomity. These are cases that as soon as they are born they present severe symptoms like regurgitations and respiratory distress.Diagnosis is confirmed through esophagogram and esopahgeal endoscopy. In this work and in our hospital a case treated withthis disease is presented and clinical elements, diagnoses and therapeutic of the same are exposed.
