Abstract

Sexuality is an important part in the life of every human being. Women are sexed since birth, and they have the right to know and enjoy sexuality. For women, the arrival of the menopausal stage does not imply sexuality death even though the criteria of several people consider that women in this stage of life do not have an adequate physiologic capacity which would allow them to have sexual behaviors. The current work describes the main elements of the educative process about sexuality that communitarian nurses should carry out in the primary level of the health care system. It states that lack of information is the source of the wrong ideas about sexuality in this stage of women's life. Communitarian nurses are in a privileged place of our society to offer an excellent sanitary education and the necessary guidance every time it is needed, in such a way, everybody could understand the normal changes of sexuality in the menopause.
