The modified questionarie" Infant heilth: Medical Alternatives" was given to a total of 30 parents or tutors whose children had been remitted to the specialized Pediatric Traditional and Narural Medicine Consultation Office located in Matanzas,the traditional and Natural Medicine Provincial Clinic "Mario E Dihigo" during the period between june 1st and december 30 th,2003,with the obtetive to evaluate the acceptance to different therapeutic modalities og natural and traditional medicine in pediatric ages. We found that the majority of the patients werw seen in the consultation office remitted by other specialties,although eight of them spontaneusly assisted the clinc.Of all those remitted,the specialty with the largest number of remissions was otorhinolaryngology with 10 cases.The most frequent diagnoses were chronic hypertrophic tonsilitis-adenoiditis and bronchial asthma even though other diagnoses had been recurrent giardiasis,atopic dermatitis and hypogammaglobulinemia.On the other-hand,the therapeutic modalities most commonly used werw: Homeopathy,in 18 patients,followed by lassertherapy,Ozone-therapy and Phytotherapy. Theree months after study had begun,90$ of the patients had a satisfactory evolution according to parents or tutors criteria and medical evaluation. Wew conclude that the the application of the different traditional and Natural Medicine Therapeutic Modalities in pediatric ages results in an accepted pratice and with favorable results.Downloads
