Abstract

A longitudinal and descriptive study in a community from Cardenas Municipality, Matanzas province is carried out, with the goal to determine Arterial hypertension prevalence,as well as its clinical epidemiological characteristics. The sample was defined remaining the determined universe with automatized processed -methods S:P:SS 10.1 for the dats base and relative frequency, as well as dispersion and central tendency measures in an Epinfo Program,version 10.6 for the significance of differences found. The main results obtained show a 33,8% Arterial Hypertension Prevailance in all inhabitants, being obesity,sedentary life, and arterial hypertension family background the most frequent risk factors.
