New surgery strategy in the thyroid nodules

Abstract

Cuban surgery norms (standards), main document of the surgery procedures against many affections, have stipulated, in the case of the thyroid nodules, as unavoidable step, the realization of a biopsy by frosting to define the extension of the surgery according to its results. Nevertheless, in our institution as in many others, regarding to their publications, this procedure is not able of giving a precise diagnosis. For that reason, it is postponed until a definite diagnosis is reached with paraffin, what leads, in many cases, to a new surgical procedure to guarantee a secure surgery for the binomial doctor- patient.
