Abstract

The no psychiatrist doctors have different motives to consult the psychiatry specialty, their knowledge of this science as well as their attitudes in front of the sick mental patient influence in this aspect. Moreover, there exist other pretensions like the evaluation of a patient capacity, the recommendations for the treatment and their transfers to a psychiatric hospital. Between 30 and 60% of the patients in a general hospital have a psycho disorder, for this reason it is of great importance to know the pathologies that are more frequent in this type of service. This knowledge let us to reduce the mortality, mobility and the duration of the patient in the hospital. About these and other aspects, a review was done making a valuation of interests in no psychiatrist doctors in this type of pathology.
