Abstract

In this work we make an approach to a disease called osteoporosis, constituting a problem at the level of the world health. It reaches an epidemic magnitude taking into account the rising level of humankind survival. This disease is characterized by a diminishing of the bone density and brings about fractures as its more characteristic clinical manifestation. We point out those risk factors producing it, the importance of preventing it and the ways of acting against it to modify the ways of life of the community.
