The lymphedema is the accumulation of the lymph in the interstitial spaces, caused by a lymphatic system defect. It is one of the cancer and its therapies complications, with long-term physical and social consequences.There are several psychosocial and adaptativa problems the cancer patients and survivors with lymphedema should affront because the lymphedema causes disfiguration, and, in some cases, it is painful and weakening. We expose general considerations about lymphedema concepts, classification, etiology, diagnostic, management and treatment.
