Abstract

According to the stimations of the World Health Organization in relation with the Diabetes Mellitus prevalence, it is considered that it affects 2,1 % of the world population. It will be of particular importance to know what features of the disease have the highest influence in the prognosis of the neuroinfectious lesion. For that we made a retrospective, analitic investigation, determining the existing casual relation between the major amputation and the variables (Diabetes Mellitus type, evolution time, previous treatment and glucemia at the admission time). To determine the existing asociation between the dependent variable (major amputation) and the independent ones, we used the logistic regression technique. Of the independent variables we analized, the Diabetes Mellitus type, the previous treatment and the glucemia at the admission time behaved as prognosis features.
