We carried out a prospective-descriptive study of the behavior of dermatologic diseases in diabetic patients assisted by Dermatology in the Diabetic Attention Center of Matanzas during a year, analyzing 179 patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria. We applied to them an enquire of selective questions and excluding answers, to evaluate their knowledge about diabetes; we also collected the following data: body mass index, scholarship, diabetes type, treatment used to control the diabetes, initial metabolic control and diagnosis of dermatologic diseases, applying a practical classification, modified by the authors. These patients were attended in re-consultation to evaluate the evolution of the skin lesions in relation with the metabolic control of the case. The results were processed in SPSS for Windows 10.0. Skin and superficial mycosis were a frequent diagnosis in our cases, both in type 1 and in type 2, finding also an elevated percent of patients with insufficient knowledge on the skin care that was related with the scholarship of the patients, detecting also a relationship between the metabolic control and the evolution among.Downloads
