With the objective of determining the medium facial bio-typological pattern in Negroid and European ethnic groups, we made a longitudinal descriptive study in a group of 7-to-11 years old children. We selected a 63-children sample with normal occlusion, without a previous history of orthodontic treatment, divided according to their ethnic characteristics in Negroids and Europeans. We made a lateral tele-radiography of the crania to each of the children when they were 7, 9 and 11 years old. That way we obtained the cephalometric tracings on which we drawn the Ricketts's resumed cephalogram, and evaluated the first five variables for this study, proving that both Negroid people and European people maintain a very similar bio-typological pattern from the age of 7 to 11 years old; besides that the European children had a very defined braquifacial pattern, while the Negroid children showed a tendency to the mesofacial pattern.Downloads
