We present a series of 194 HIV seropositive patients, who developed Fournier Gangrene, compiled by authors during 5 years of discontinuous work in Sub-Saharan Africa (South African Republic: 1996-1999 and Zimbabwe: 2003-2005). Media age was 58.3 years. 9 pediatric patients are included. Fournier Gangrene was the form immunodeficiency presented in 24 cases. We also present the possible causes, concomitant entities and the final evolution of the patients. In the studied series we followed 83 patients; in that subgroup mortality was 45.8 %. We analyze the association between Fournier Gangrene and HIV , on the basis of international reports. The information is given in charts with natural data and percentages.Downloads
