Behavior of young pregnancy in Popular Medical Consultations in Puerto Ayacucho.

A descriptive, observational study was carried out to determine the behaviour of young pregnancy in 5 popular consultations in Puerto Ayacucho city, Municipality of Atures, The Amazonas State. It was carried out in the period from January to December 2005. The universe was formed by all the pregnant women registered in consults or in field visits during this period, and the sample was formed by 19-years-old or less pregnant women. An interview was applied to gather data and the study was complemented with observation and document analysis. We determined socio-demographic factors, information level on sexual education of the pregnant woman, morbidity associated to pregnancy at this life stage, and also familiar support to pregnant woman. In the studied sample we found a low socio-cultural level, limited familiar support, and also lack of knowledge of the anticonceptive methods usage and the existence of pathologies associated to pregnancy in most of the pregnant women.Downloads
