Abstract

We developed a metric descriptive study to know the distribution of the scientific production divided in investigative line, health care institution, age and specialization, level of health care and municipality. The study consisted in the analysis of all the entries in the Database CUMED, to select those pertaining to investigators of the province of Matanzas to measure the usage of the database they do and the knowledge they have on it. The investigation was carried out at the Provincial Center of Medical Sciences Information of Matanzas “Laudelino González González”. The necessity of an effective action contributing to increase the scientific publication of our researchers and its entering to the Database CUMED motivated us. Our investigation has two stages; the first one is searching all the works of the province of Matanzas registered in CUMED; the second one, an inquiry filled by 100 professionals of the he alth Care System of the municipality of Matanzas.
